CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

A Craft Class with Suzy- Join our Nurse, Suzy Maurer as she leads you during this craft class.

Art Starts Here - Come and explore many fun and creative art projects. You and your child will have fun creating a new and exciting masterpiece planned by Debbie. She will lead you and your children through fun art projects for the budding artist. 

Beginning Toddler Activities-This class is for younger toddlers to learn some basic skills that they have not yet learned or have not been exposed to quite yet.  This class will be set up so we work on 3 different skills in 15 minute increments to prevent boredom or loss of focus.  This class will be taught by Cambria.  

Baby Play Group and Breastfeeding/Infant Support Group-- Trying to decide whether to Breastfeed? Already Breastfeeding?  New mothers have many questions and concerns about Breastfeeding. The Support Group is a wonderful way to exchange information and experiences. - A play group specific for infants to socialize and interact with other babies This Support Group will be led by RN Susan Maurer.   

Developmental Activities (Bilingual)-Is your child having problems with transitions or sitting still for things such as story-time or different developmental activities?  Come and join in with Cambria and Rebekah in practicing these different skills through circle time and educational stations.

Gym for You and Me!!-Marcela Lopez has put together a class full of energy!  This class is designed for those toddlers who are already walking.  The purpose of this class is to concentrate on small and large muscle development as well as coordination and listening.

In Shape with Zumba-Come and learn some new moves while dancing and toning your body.  Dance the Zumba with Amor!!

Jump, Jump, Jump- This class is designed for those toddlers who are already walking.  The purpose of the class is to concentrate on large muscle development as well as coordination and balance.

Mommy and Baby Belly Dancing -Doing mommy and baby belly dancing with your baby/toddler is a great way to get back in shape while meeting other moms. This class is taught by Amira Dennis.

Mommy Support Group (English)-Come join in with other moms to get help and support regarding resources or any kid or mommy questions you may have.  Marsha Hayes will be over-seeing this class.

Move & Groove-Marcela Lopez will guide your children in a variety of musical fun through singing, dancing and sign language!.

Parent Effectiveness Training -Come and learn how to communicate effectively with your children. A must attend class because of its informational content. Taught by Dianne Farkas, MS.

Potty Training Basics- Come and learn the basics about potty training your little one. Our nurse Suzy will be teaching this class.

Promoting Positive Behavior-A class designed to provide parents with insightful knowledge about the basics of behavior and social interactions. This class will help parents to build positive relationships with their children.  The basic principles of behavior and social interaction will help you understand why children often rely on problem behaviors and how to get the behaviors you want.  Cambria will be leading this informative class.

Pre-K Readiness (Bilingual) - The preschool years are coming to an end and it is time to think about Kindergarten. But is your child really ready for school? This class will go over ABC’s, numbers, shapes, and colors as well as challenge your child to lean readiness skills that Kindergarten teachers look for. Some readiness skills that your child will be expected to practice are oral language skills, ability to listen, desire to be Independent, ability to play well with others, fine motor skills, and basic letter and number recognition, and have enthusiasm toward learning.  Attend this class with you child so that they can learn the necessary skills to prepare them for kindergarten.  Nevada Department of Education Pre Kindergarten standards will be followed as well. This class will be led by F2F staff.

Recipe Roundup – Bring a favorite recipe to share and enjoy making a simple treat with your child. Please keep in mind we can not accommodate for food allergies. This class will be led by Rebekah.

Sign Language (Baby & Toddler) - As your child’s spoken vocabulary grows; his/her sign vocabulary can grow, too.  Introducing and continuing sign language with your children provides exceptional stimulation for multiple areas of the brain. Silly Dancin’-A mommy & me dance class; join your child to see how silly we can dance to fun music.  Taught by Marcela Lopez.

Strategies for Parents (Spanish)- Practical tips for helping cooperation and communication with your children. Come join in with other moms to get help information about how to control behavior. Carmen Valencia will be over-seeing this class.

Storytime with Cambria and Independent Play- Reading to your child at an early age is one essential gift that that can prepare them for a great start in learning. Come and join Cambria as she reads a new and exciting story to your toddler. This class will have a brief story time and related activity or craft. This class will encourage your child to use his/her imagination in participating in free play.  This can be really good for your child’s creativity.

Come and join Lorena Rios as she reads a new and exciting story to your toddler. This class will have a brief story time and related activity or craft. This class will encourage your child to use his/her imagination in participating in free play.  This can be really good for your child’s creativity. 

Teen Parent Support Group- Come and meet with other teen parents and their children and share parenting experiences. Our focus is to create a bond between parent and child and to encourage our teen parents to become positive role models. We will have fun scrap booking activities so bring your pictures!! This class will be taught by Rebekah and Cambria

Turkey Time for Tots!!! - Come and have fun singing and doing crafts dealing with the famous holiday “Turkey”. Cambria will be teaching this class at the library.

Zumba for kids with Jasper Bring your child to this exciting new class where your child will exercise and learn zumba. This class will be led by Jasper.

WII Dance Aerobics- Come have fun while getting a workout. We are pulling out the WII and going to have fun while exercising. This class is led by Rebekah.
